A NEW LOOK

It’s about a month or so after my long awaited and procrastinated hair cut. I have got to say, although I miss my length somewhat, I feel 10x cooler with this cropped cut!

I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair and when I wear it curly— fuggetaboudit! I feel like a new sassier me!

It is 10x easier to wash but its not as easy to manage as it may seem. I don’t have naturally defined curls so I have to twirl and twist tiny section by tiny section to achieve the desired curl pattern look in the back, which is MUCH shorter than on top. The longer parts of my hair get the basic twist out treatment.

For those of you looking to a hair cut for an easy way out, it’s not! Unless you plan on going super close to the scalp, you will still have to put in some work. It’s certainly been worth it though. In a town where many women wouldn’t dream of being nappy, I stand out and that’s what I love about my hair. Its all MINE!

Tout arrive en France

One of the best vacations of my life. From the Notre Dame to the “Watch The Throne” concert. We did it all and we had a great time doing it. Nothing like family and good company!

The only rule is don’t be boring and dress cute wherever you go. Life is too short to blend in.

I CUT MY HAIR!

“With short hair you begin to crave pearl necklaces long earrings and a variety of sunglasses. And you brush your teeth more often. Short hair removes obvious femininity and replaces it with style. When it starts growing out a little and losing its style you have to wear sunglasses until you can get it to the hairdresser. That’s why you need a variety. Short hair makes you aware of subtraction as style. You can no longer wear puffed sleeves or ruffles the neat is suddenly preferable to the fussy. You eye the tweezers instead of the blusher. What else can you take away You can’t hide behind short hair… you may look a little androgynous a little unfinished a little bare… but your face is no longer a flat screen surrounded by a curtain: the world sees you in three dimensions.”

After months of stalling and yapping about it, I finally did it!! View the video footage of my hair cut in the previous post or directly on my YouTube channel here!

SHEA MOISTURE CURL ENHANCING SMOOTHIE / CANTU SHEA BUTTER LEAVE-IN CONDITIONING CREAM

A good leave-in product is a must-have for us Natural haired women. It helps us to lock in moisture and get the desired curly look we all love. These two products are very popular amongst naturals and are used primarily for twist-out’s and braid-out’s.

I’ve used both of these goods on my hair and I must say that I really do love the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Condition Repair Cream. At this point in my hair journey, I would consider it to be a staple in my hair routine. My hair can become very dry at times, especially since I’ve colored it, and the light watery consistency works extremely well for me helping to hydrate it and enhance my curl pattern. It also does wonders for the look I want to achieve. The result of my twist-out is soft and bouncy  hair with moisturized and defined curls.

The Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie is also a pretty good product. It smells awesome but it’s a  bit thicker. For me, it works okay. I don’t hate it! I will definitely finish the container. Would I buy it again? Maybe. Several other bloggers and consumers rave on the product. I would suggest that you at least give it a try and see if it works for you. The ingredients are all really good for your hair.

Have you used any of these products? Leave a comment. Let me know your take on either of these two products!
